Something very disturbing happened this evening as I was sitting outside Costa Coffee on the lower ground floor of the Novy Smichov Shopping Center. As I was drinking my tea, I glanced to my right and saw a fat, bald man passing the opticians. He looked at me and made what very much appeared to be a cut-throat gesture with his hand and then continued walking past. He had on only a t-shirt without a collar, and clearly swiped his hand across his neck whilst looking at me. Only immediately after he had made the gesture did I recognize him as a former (?) security guard at the center.
On one occasion nearly five years ago now, I challenged two M2C security guards as to their gaslighting behaviour (that has been documented here during this time), and told them that I would sue M2C if it did not stop. Although the guards understood me, they did not speak very good English, but told me that the bald headed guy did, and called him over. When he came over (aggressively), one of the guards explained what I had said, and the bald guard just threw his hands up in the air and walked off.
He is/was the bald security guard who bobs his head around in all directions as he walks.
He is never in uniform now, and doesn’t patrol the Center, but he appears to still have some role there as I see him from time to time.
I have been spat on by Bašta’s M2C security guards at least several times in the past. I’ve been physically assaulted by a security guard, and threatened and intimidated countless times. A few years ago in Brno, a G4S car acclerated at speed towards me as I was crossing the road and I literally had to jump out of the way. And four years ago I was followed by a burly man down an escalator at Národní třída, then found myself falling between the platform/train gap. My life was saved by a passenger who managed to pull me up onto the platform with about 5 seconds to spare before the train driver pulled away. I get recognized by the train drivers on that line (C), and the police appear to have pointed me out to even ticket inspectors. Yet the driver not only pulled away, but nobody came to my aid as I sat on the platform in a state of shock, my legs bleeding (I was wearing running shorts). That ‘accident’ caused me to develop Osteoarthritis of the hip meaning that running (the only thing I love) is painful, and I’ll probably need a hip replacement before long.
In the last few weeks, I have noticed the M2C security guards getting increasingly more intimidating and aggressive, not only in the Novy Smichov, but in the nearby Zlatý Anděl Centrum, and the OC Quadrio at Národní třída.
*Update May 21 2024 – I was sitting outside Costa Coffee today in Novy Smichov, when the same man walked past me again. It appears that Roman Bašta himself was waiting for him by the escalator, as they paired up and walked on together. As they did so, the bald headed security guard said something to him and looked back at me menacingly, and then Bašta did the same.
